Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step to your login: after entering your password, you confirm your identity with a one-time code from an authenticator app. This means your account stays secure even if your password is ever compromised. We recommend that every person with access to your dashboard enables 2FA — especially Admins and Editors who can make changes to events or view financial data. There is no way to recover access to your account without your authenticator if you lose it, so it’s worth setting up as early as possible and encouraging your whole team to do the same. 2FA is configured per person in each person’s own account settings. Each team member needs to set it up themselves — it cannot be enabled on their behalf.

Setting up two-factor authentication

You need an authenticator app installed on your phone before you begin. Any TOTP-compatible app works, including Google Authenticator, Authy, and 1Password.
1

Go to your account settings

Click your profile at the bottom of the sidebar and select Settings.
2

Open the two-step verification section

Find the Two-step verification section on the Settings page and click to manage it. If you have no authenticator set up yet, you will see a prompt to add one.
3

Scan the QR code

A QR code appears on screen. Open your authenticator app and scan it to add the account. If your app doesn’t support scanning, copy the text key shown below the QR code and enter it manually into your app.
4

Enter the verification code

Your authenticator app will display a six-digit code. Enter it in the Verification code field and click Verify. The code changes every 30 seconds — if it expires before you submit, just use the next one.
Once verified, two-factor authentication is active on your account. Every sign-in will prompt you for a code from your authenticator app after your password.

Viewing and removing authenticators

To see which authenticators are registered, return to Settings → Two-step verification. Each authenticator is listed by the name you gave it and when it was added. To remove an authenticator, click Remove next to it. Once removed, you will no longer be prompted for a second factor at sign-in. Add a new authenticator at any time by repeating the setup steps above.

What to do if you lose access to your authenticator

If you lose your phone or can no longer access your authenticator app, contact Let’s Do This support. They can help you regain access to your account.
