# Memberships

> Offer a recurring membership program that gives participants discounts, guest passes, and exclusive access across your events.

<Info>
  Setting up a membership program requires working with your account manager.

</Info>

A membership is a program you sell to participants — either as an annual subscription or a one-time purchase — that gives them ongoing benefits across your events. Benefits include discounted entries, guest passes, and early access. Memberships work best for multi-event organizers running a series, club, or seasonal program who want to build a loyal, returning participant base.

Annual subscription memberships generate predictable recurring revenue and reduce the cost of re-engaging participants for each event. One-time memberships suit seasonal passes or tour passes where participants pay once and benefit for a fixed period.

## What a membership includes

A membership program is made up of a few building blocks:

* **Tiers** — pricing levels within the program (for example, Standard and Premium). Each tier typically comes with a different price and benefits.
* **Plans** — the group structure of the membership (for example, Individual, Couple, or Family). Plans define how many adults and children are covered.
* **Offerings** — a specific combination of a tier and a plan, with a price. This is what a participant actually buys.
* **Benefits** — the perks attached to the membership, such as discounts on event entries or guest passes.

## Purchase types

Each offering is set up as either a subscription or a one-time purchase:

* **Subscription** — the membership renews automatically on a set date each year. Participants can turn auto-renew off or cancel at any time from their account.
* **One-time** — the participant pays once and the membership covers a defined period, with no automatic renewal.

## Benefits members receive

### Discounts on event entries

Members receive a discount on event registrations — either a percentage off the ticket price, a flat amount off, or a fixed member price. You can apply the discount to all your events or restrict it to specific ones.

### Guest passes

Members with a guest pass allowance can share a limited number of discounted tickets with friends or family for specific events. Each guest pass is single-use and is sent to the recipient's email address. Members manage their passes from their membership dashboard — they can create new passes and revoke unused ones. Guest pass allowances can reset yearly when a subscription renews, or accumulate over the life of the membership.

### Family and group memberships

Plans that cover more than one person (Couple, Family, and similar) let the primary member add secondary members — a partner or children — each with their own member details. Secondary members receive the same benefits as the primary member.

## Membership upsell during checkout

You can offer your membership during event registration so participants can join and register in a single checkout. Participants who already hold an active membership skip the upsell automatically and proceed straight to registration, receiving their member discount as normal.

## The membership dashboard

After purchasing, participants access their membership from their Let's Do This account. The dashboard shows:

* Current status, expiry date, and auto-renew setting
* Billing details and the payment card on file
* Secondary members (for family and group plans)
* Guest passes — available allowance, passes created, and revoked passes
* Events where their member benefits apply

## What to set up next

Once your account manager has created your membership scheme, you configure the tiers, plans, pricing, and benefits yourself. See [Creating a membership](/docs/memberships/creating-a-membership) for a step-by-step guide, and [Managing memberships](/docs/memberships/managing-memberships) for ongoing administration.
