# British Triathlon Race Pass

> Participants entering British Triathlon-licensed events confirm their membership or purchase a one-day Race Pass at checkout.

Events licensed by British Triathlon require every participant to hold a valid
British Triathlon membership or purchase a one-day Race Pass. The checkout
handles this automatically — participants confirm their status and either enter
their membership number or purchase a pass, all within the registration flow.

## What participants see at checkout

Each participant is asked: **Are you a British Triathlon member?**

### If they answer Yes

The participant enters their British Triathlon membership number. The number is
validated before they can continue.

### If they answer No

The participant chooses which Race Pass to purchase:

| Pass                               | Price | Eligibility                                              |
| ---------------------------------- | ----- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| Adult Race Pass                    | £8    | Aged 25 or over on 31 December in the year of the event  |
| Children & Young Persons Race Pass | £2    | Aged 24 or under on 31 December in the year of the event |

The participant must agree to the British Triathlon Race Pass terms and
conditions before completing their purchase. The terms are linked directly in
the checkout.

## Cost and payment

Race Pass charges are collected in full at checkout. They are not spread across
installments if the participant is paying by a payment plan — the pass fee is
collected upfront regardless of how the rest of the registration fee is paid.

## What happens if a registration is transferred

If a participant transfers their registration to another person, the Race Pass
transfers with it. The new participant inherits the Race Pass already attached
to that registration and does not need to pay again.
